She graduated from Musashino Art University with a degree in Japanese Fine Art. She also has the skill of traditional Chinese ink painting and calligraphy. Her artwork recently was selected by “International Artist GrandPrize Competition 2019”, which is the biggest art prize in Asia.
The world we live in is a mixture of eastern and western, the reality and the illusion, the contemporary and the past. Chika Wu’s artwork tries to express the conflict between these concepts. The gold leaf layers reflect different appearances under the light, which represents the passing of time.
